ideas stick

Simple. The definition of simple is to make it clear but not too much. The more proper definition is “In the world of content, less is more. Determine your core message, then communicate it in the most simple process.”  The main point of this is to get to the core. You want to explain the core of the topic so people can understand but not make it too long or it will go right over their head. Well, that is what I think that this means. If you need another way of thinking of it is basically means clear and to the point or making it easy for people to understand but not dumbing it down. An example could be the nazi use of the swastika symbol. The symbol was meant for prosperity and good luck but then turned into the nazi party symbol and those who saw it during the time knew that they were in German territory.

Unexpected. In my words, the definition of unexpected would be to break away from what is normal. In other words, it’s like telling your kids that they are going to school but then you take the turn to Disneyland so they can have fun, it’s like just something happened out of the blue. I guess you could say that being unexpected can be expected like most people want to get the attention of someone so they go to the depths to get that attention but everyone is doing the same so instead you do the opposite of that. An example of this could be when someone on the internet making a video called “Im gonna quit”, people would assume they will quit youtube or something but then in the video that says that they will quit smoking. I feel like that is pretty unexpected right?

Concrete. Make an image in someone’s head that will let them think, that’s what Im going with. I guess you could say that feeding someone a few ideas is the point of painting a picture in their head but it will help people get a better understanding of the concept. An example could be that giving a speech on trump being a good president because of certain things he’s done and it will give them ideas on why he’s good I guess.

Credible. It’s like having statistics and or trusted information that comes from primary sources. It is about having something that is trusted so that it is more believable. That is the whole point of this. The words of me would more be like Do use places like Wikipedia and blog posts that don’t support evidence of the situation. An example would be Someone giving credit to an author on a book that gives insight on suicide awareness and uses actual evidence that is in the book.

Emotional.  Hit people’s cores make them feel something whether it is good or bad emotions. The heart of this is to get to the core of someones being. Reach into the heart of that person that what I feel like this is what it truly means. In other words, make someone cry or make them feel happy. An example would be if Someone posted a post on TikTok about their dad passing and they are grieving in the video this will get others to feel their pain and get them to feel more emotional.

Tells Stories. Stories are the heart of every emotion. By this, I mean that stories can evoke an emotion. The core of this is that stories can stimulate someone’s mind and make them do something or feel something. In other words, You could say that telling stories are part of a conjoined emotion in your head. I feel a perfect example again would be the TikTok post on someone’s deceased dad and the original poster makes that story of how good of a guy they were.

I think that main point of the assignment was to have us learn what it means to make our ideas stick and to hit the core of it.

The main question could probably be can students understand the definition to the success model and can we as the students learn to use these to make post?

  1. Your statement: "An example would be if Someone posted a post on TikTok about their dad passing and they are grieving in the video this will get others to feel their pain and get them to feel more emotional." is a good example of how the people can feel the emotion of the audience. Good example!

  2. Your statement had relevance when you said, "An example of this could be when someone on the internet making a video called “I'm gonna quit”, people would assume they will quit YouTube or something but then in the video that says that they will quit smoking." You brought up a really good point on how clickbait on social media is being more commonly used in order to get unsuspecting viewers to click on a video in order to feed their curiosity and then get disappointed or underwhelmed when they find out the truth.
