Inanity From my understanding Inanity is kind of like an accusation with no evidence to back it up. The meaning of Inanity is ignorance it is presented in a cloak of sincerity. I guess it's kind of like stupidity then right in the sense that it is ignorance. The best example I can give is The relationship between Megatron and Starscream from transformers, Starscream is cocky and full of himself yet he's a coward that hides behind lies. What In getting at is that Starscream is ignorant and hides himself behind his own cloak of sincerity so that he hold his status as Megatron's second hand. A more realistic approach with social media would probably be somebody posting a lie and hiding it in between a video of themselves being sorry about it. Is that close enough? I feel like that this whole Inanity paragraph is trying to tell us about the ignorance of the internet and how it's kind of like a facade. Pomposity: You could say that Pomposity is when someone is thinking highly of themselves with no regard to others. Like when someone is too prideful in ones own self that what IM trying to say. I am going to use Starscream as an example again because he thinks way too highly of himself. For example, Starscream is the lieutenant commander of the Decepticon army and he holds that title high above his head too much to the point that makes him think that he can overthrow Megatron. He uses that title to belittle the Decepticons that are below him and even the Autobot that he faces in combat. Starscream is the perfect example to use because it's in his nature to do these sorts of things. In real life like on social media someone commenting something hurtful to another because they have the title of chief advisor to a company or something or even just daily bullying on social media could count. That is what I get from the paragraph. The heart of this paragraph is that pomposity is bullshit that harms people. The purpose of this assignment is to get the students to think of all that bullshit on the web and The question at heart from what I think, it's how can we sniff out bullshit using these terms.
