Aloha Caleb,
ReplyDeleteI’m questioning your statement regarding data, information or evidence and the ACCURACY of your statement when you say, “An example of someone exhibiting data, information or evidence using social media could be when someone is trying to find proven evidence of the vaccine not working by going through reddit, twitter and Instagram and also finding out if that source is credible.” I see this as the exact opposite regarding data, information or evidence, because when seeking out data, information or evidence one cannot use the various social media platforms. Data is simply raw symbols or numbers, which become information when they are contextualized. Then Information achieves the status of, or becomes evidence, when it can be compared to or held up against some type of relevant standards, Finally, Evidence is a fixed item which can be used to test out ideas and hypotheses which are then transformed into knowledge by success, consistency and consensus.
I would be interested to know your thoughts, your take on this as well and therefore welcome a response/reply.
Aloha,
Brian
